ALEXANDRA – Robber falls through roof and caught with two accomplices, awaits justice.
Three suspects who were caught red-handed during an alleged business robbery and theft were remanded in custody by the Alex Magistrates’ Court on 20 July.
They will reappear before Magistrate Renier Boshoff on 1 August for a further hearing.
The three men allegedly caused damage worth R450 000 to a church, surgery and a multi spares shop in adjacent buildings in Wynberg at about midnight on 4 July.
The damage included a broken roller door, broken water pipes and electric cables. An official of one of the businesses went to the property after being alerted of the break-in and found the suspects still inside. The police were called and found the men hiding in the ceiling. One of the suspects apparently fell through the ceiling and his accomplices were ordered to descend and were all arrested. The stolen items were not specified.
