Held up with toy gun
ALEXANDRA – Robber of real gun nabbed at crime scene, found with toy gun.
A suspect arrested for an armed robbery, suspected to have been done using a toy gun, awaits a court appearance.
Police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang said the suspect and an accomplice who is at large, approached the victim at 6pm on 15 July at a 5th Avenue meat outlet and allegedly demanded his gun at gunpoint. The suspect handed over the gun and a magazine loaded with eight bullets.
The suspects then ran away and the victim went to report the matter at the Alex Police Station. Police went with him to the crime scene where they found the suspect and his accomplice. The accomplice ran away while the suspect was arrested and found in possession of a toy gun.
The stolen gun worth R2 600 was not found.
