Robber stabs woman for her handbag
ALEXANDRA – Brave woman stabbed as fends off robber and loses hand bag.
A brave woman who chased and caught a suspected robber, still lost her handbag after he allegedly attacked her with a sharp object.
Police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang said the incident, which occurred at 5am on 22 July at the intersection of 13th and Florence Mophosho avenues, is being investigated.
The suspect approached the victim who was walking to work, grabbed her handbag and ran away. She chased and caught him. As they tussled for the bag, he allegedly stabbed her on the hand with a sharp object forcing her to let go before he ran away again. The bag contained a purse, cards, R230 in cash and a cellphone worth R2 500.
