Alex man shot dead after following robbers
ALEXANDRA – Minutes later, she heard two gun shots and found him lying in a pool of blood from wounds in his chest and head.
A man of 8th Avenue paid with his life after he followed two suspects who robbed him and his girlfriend of their personal items.
Alex police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang said police were investigating the incident which occurred at about 1.45am on 26 August on 9th Avenue. The couple were walking home from a tavern when the suspects, one with a gun, approached them and demanded cash and cellphones. They searched the victims and took undisclosed items from them before walking away.
The deceased followed the suspects against his girlfriend’s advice. Minutes later, she heard two gun shots and found him lying in a pool of blood from wounds in his chest and head. She ran to his friend’s home and they called paramedics who certified him dead on the scene before taking his body to a mortuary.
