Following an article in Alex Newsabout fibre-to-the-home provider Vumatel’s plans to include Alexandra as the first township in the country to have 100 Mbit/s fibre for R89 per month, we asked residents of the township what they thought about it and if they would sign up for it.
Tshwaro Mogwera: Does this mean we can go on social media for just R89 a month? That’s perfect, data is expensive. Now we won’t have to buy 100 megabytes for R30.
Tebogo Ramahlo: It is going to save us time and money of going to the Internet café every time we want to look for jobs or search for information.
Tshepiso Williams: Data is expensive and young people need access to the Internet in order to do their schoolwork. The only question I have is will it be regulated because these young ones might visit bad sites?
Martha Moleya: I think it is agreat idea because we can look for jobs from our homes. Plus the price is very affordable.
