JUST IN: Child dies at Nobuhle Hostel
ALEX - Tragic accident causes child's death in Alex.
A child, whose age has not been specified, has died at Nobuhle Hostel which is situated on the corner of Alfred Nzo and 6th avenues in the last hour.
According to a source who called Alex News, a few children were playing outside the hostel close to a pile of firewood. The wood is used by residents of the hostel to cook meat that is sold to passersby. Apparently, one of the children fell onto the pile of wood and was pierced by a protruding piece.
It is understood the child was pierced in the head and chest and later declared dead on arrival at a local clinic.
A journalist has been dispatched to the scene for more details.
