London is calling for beauty pageant hopefuls

JOBURG - Commonwealth SA Pageants are looking for women who can represent SA at the International contest in London from 14 to 16 November.

Commonwealth SA Pageants are in search of contestants to partake in the Miss Commonwealth Internationalâ„¢ Pageant in London from 14 to 16 November and entries close on 28 August.

The Categories are Miss Teen Commonwealth SA, 16 to 19 years; Miss Commonwealth SA 20 + years and Mrs Commonwealth SA 25+ years. This is a great opportunity to represent South Africa on an

International stage in the beauty industry.

The pageant has never been staged in South Africa, however many South African ladies contested in the International pageant in the past; including Miss SA and Mrs SA title holders. The International pageant has been running for 12 years in London and creates a platform for women to become Cultural and Charity Ambassadors for their countries. It is seen as a Philanthropic pageant and winners are making a difference in the community.

For 2013 a selection process will be run in search of representatives and from 2014 the pageant will be officially launched with a fully paid trip to the UK for the 3 winners. Ikageng Itireleng AidsS Ministry in Soweto is the beneficiary charity for this year’s pageant. 50% of the entry fee gets donated to them.

‘Taking part in the Commonwealth Pageants is a life changing experience and it gives a platform for ordinary women to live out their dreams and contribute to charitable causes.’ says Anel de Swardt-Strydom, the reigning Mrs Commonwealth International. She represented South Africa in the Mrs Category during November 2012. Mrs Australia came second.
