It’s Alex Real Madrid against United Stars in the U13 final of the annual Year-End Tournament hosted by the Alexandra Northrand Local Football Association on 26 November.
Real Madrid walloped Batlokwa 6–0 in one of the most one-sided games of the tournament to get to the final.
Before that, they beat Black Poison 5–0 in the last 16 and Super Stars 10–0 in the quarterfinals They have won the tournament a record three times.
“Now we’re in line to defend the replacement trophy for four years in a row,” said seasoned coach Marks ‘Mocks’ Maseko.”Those who know the history of Real Madrid in Alex will tell you the milestones we have accomplished over the years with this club. I am ready to return it to its glory days again. We won the Maimane Alfred Phiri Games last year, the Spring Tournament in the same year and that year’s Year-End Tournament.
“We now want to repeat that feat again, starting with the current Year-End Tournament and moving into the coming season’s cup competitions.”
United Stars coach Bathobele Makubalo said he was equally ready for a thrilling encounter. “I can tell you now we’re going to beat him [Maseko] 1–0 in the final come Sunday,” he said. “I am happy to meet him in the final as my team thoroughly knows his style of play and we shall match him man for man.”
Makubalo’s team disposed of league rivals, LRC FC 6–5 on sudden death penalties after the teams were level at 2–2 in regulation time and tied at 4–4 after penalty kicks.
