Knifeman nabbed
ALEXANDRA – Woman's robbery nets wanted criminal.
A suspect wanted by the police for an unspecified offence was arrested by Alex police for the alleged robbery of a woman at knifepoint.
Spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang said the victim of 20th Avenue let in the suspect after he had knocked on her door at 9 pm on 2 December. When asked what he wanted, the suspect asked for a knife.

She denied having any and he left but returned shortly after armed with a knife. This time, he claimed to be looking for his dog which he wanted to kill. The woman got suspicious and when she tried to take her phone from a bed, the suspect grabbed it and assaulted her. Neighbours heard the commotion and came to her rescue.
They apprehended and handed the suspect to the police who admitted to taking her phone. Police also realised that he was wanted for another offence.
