Mbopha Mashigo’s alleged killer makes another U-turn as he is expected to make a bail application again on 23 February

JOBURG – Alex News has been reliably informed that the accused will be in court to make a bail application after withdrawing his previous bail applications.

From changing lawyers, to changing his mind about applying for a bail application.

This is the story unfolding at the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court in the case against a man accused of killing prominent Alexandra businessman, Mbopha Mashigo.

The Alex News team has been reliably informed that the legal team of the alleged killer, Jonas Ramokgola has put in a requisition to have him appear in court on 23 February.

According to our sources close to the case, this requisition was tabled by the defence team to avoid having masses attend his bail application. The accused has on previous occasions withdrawn his bail applications

The state is alleging that the accused shot and killed the deceased on New Year’s day at his business premises. The accused was arrested following a tip-off from a community member after his photos were released and was pointed out as a wanted suspect in the murder case of the businessman. He has been in custody since his arrest.
