Suspended sentence for sodomist inmate
ALEXANDRA – 15-year-term Leeuwkop inmate sodomises cellmate.
A prisoner who admitted committing sodomy on an inmate was, on 13 February, sentenced by the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court to 10 years’ imprisonment which was wholly suspended.
Prince Nethondze (39) who, together with the victim, are each serving 15-year terms for other separate crimes, was found guilty of the offence by Magistrate Gideon Schneitler with Jacqui Letsaolo as the state prosecutor and the accused represented by the Legal Aid Board.
The incident occurred in March last year in their shared cell at Leeuwkop Prison. The accused appeared ailing as he took the stand.
