These boots were made for kicking
ALEXANDRA - Children from the Alex Aftercare Centre receive a donation of soccer boots from an American Samaritan.
The soccer-loving children of Alexandra, who more often than not play barefoot or with broken or torn shoes, received an unexpected surprise.

They received pairs of soccer boots from the Do Good and Have Fun branch of the Union of Jewish Women, which runs the Alex Aftercare Centre.

The children couldn’t wait to try on the boots donated by Jake Braun, son of Terri Braun. He had collected gently-used soccer boots in honour of his bar mitzvah which he shipped from Florida in the USA to the union.

The boots were given to the aftercare centre, and the delighted children had great fun having a go at a soccer ball.
The union said in a statement that they were grateful for the generous donation that enabled the organisation to make a difference in the lives of the children.
