Man sentenced to six months’ imprisonment for trespassing
ALEXANDRA – Loiterer at demolition site jailed for six months.
A man found guilty of trespassing in Bryanston was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment in Alexandra Magistrates’ Court.
Walter Madona(32) of unspecified residence, spent six months in detention after his arrest at 7.45am on 20 November last year.
Guards noticed him loitering at a demolition site before the workers arrived and interrogated him. When he told them that he was looking for anything to sell to support himself, police were called and arrested him. In passing sentence, Magistrate Renier Boshoff took the six months he had already spent in custody into consideration as a mitigating factor.
