DA basking in our glory, claims EFF
JOBURG – The EFF believes all the successes being claimed by the DA in the City of Johannesburg were largely due to their contributions.
The EFF in the City of Johannesburg said all the success stories being claimed by the Democratic Alliance (DA) were largely due to the contributions of the red berets.
The DA formed an alliance with the EFF to take control of the City.
Speaking during a media engagement at the Metropolitan Centre in Braamfontein, the EFF’s Joburg Region chairperson Musa Novela said, “It is no wonder why mayor Herman Mashaba was being touted as an EFF [sympathetic] mayor because we move motions and contributions that matter, which has resulted in the successes being claimed by the ruling coalition,” Novela said.
He singled out the current drive to rejuvenate the Joburg CBD by taking over dilapidated, neglected and hijacked buildings and sprucing them up and turning them into habitable housing developments to accommodate the poor.
Be that as it may, Novela warned that ‘mayor Mashaba is not safe in his hot seat’.
“We cannot guarantee his future as the City mayor as the DA and ANC are, to us, different sides of the same coin. Both of them don’t have an explicit programme and agenda that seeks to lead to the upliftment of our people from the abject poverty they find themselves in.”
He reiterated the party’s commitment to the expropriation of land without compensation and the nationalisation of the mines and other strategic institutions in the country.
