Local upcoming music artist ‘Presh Beats’ drops his first album
ALEX – A local artist is on a mission to keep youngsters away from drugs.
A 27-year-old up-and-coming music artist Precious ‘Presh Beats’ Baloyi has released his first album, Respect.
Baloyi who grew up in Alexandra and has his recording studio in Tsutsumani, described his music as a mixture of local deep house and classic music with a sound that relates to both old school and millennial age groups.
On his 13-track album, Baloyi worked with other local artists Rito Mahlaule also known as R. Tido and Vinny Twala.

He said through his music he wanted to inspire young people who have thrown in the towel on their dreams.
“Many young people have lost their vision and get themselves into the wrong stuff.
“Through this album, I’m conveying a message of hope to the youngsters who have lost their vision and have given themselves over to intoxicating substances.
“I believe that through music one can positively contribute in changing the way young people look at themselves,” Baloyi said.
He added that working with community-based organisations in the past few years had helped him understand the daily challenges faced by young people in Alexandra.

“I work with a number of young aspiring music artists and help them do their music demos for free in my studio.
“This helps them redirect their attention into something positive and takes them away from the streets where they get involved in bad things,” concluded Baloyi.
The album, Respect is now available at online music outlets such as Amazon, iTunes and other online music platforms.
