House robber, who was pepper sprayed by a victim, has been sentenced
ALEXANDRA – The housebreaker received a 2-year sentence.
A housebreaker who was pepper sprayed by a victim, disenabling him, was imprisoned to two years’ imprisonment by the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court.
Lucky Gumede (38) admitted to the offence, committed with the intention to steal from the victim’s room in Kew at 8am on 4 January. The victim’s brother heard a noise coming from his room and kicked open the door thinking it was from a falling roof. Instead, he found the accused and victim in a confrontation.
The two restrained the accused after one of them pepper sprayed him in the eyes.
