Bike thieves nabbed
ALEXANDRA – Alert guards nab attempted bike thieves.
The Alexandra Magistrates’ Court remanded two men in custody pending sentencing for attempted theft of a motorbike.
Olievenhoutbosch residents, Prince Nyirenda and Edson Mekhumvic admitted to the offence which occurred at about 8.15pm on 13 January at the Benmore Shopping Centre.
The victim left the bike in a parking lot at about 3.45pm. Guards saw the accused tampering with it and apprehended them. The owner of the bike was called and on inspection, he noticed that the lights and the ignition had been tampered with and it wouldn’t start. Police called to the scene arrested them.
