ALEXANDRA – Alert guards halt attempted car theft at auction
A man who allegedly attempted to steal a motor vehicle at an auction was granted R3 000 bail by the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court.
The suspect was nabbed in the afternoon on 13 December at the Bidvest, Burchmore Auction yard, Kelvin.
He drove the unspecified vehicle to the exit gate and when asked for a gate pass by the guards, he failed to produce one. He was arrested after the guards found out that the vehicle had been displayed for sale. He will reappear in court after the conclusion of further investigation.
