Comfort in six months of discomfort
ALEXANDRA – Tip-off leads to 3 copper thieves' six months sentences.
Three men accused of copper wire theft were each sentenced to six months imprisonment by the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court.
Comfort Dube, Tebogo Masemola and William Ratoise were arrested early morning on 24 January in Sunninghill for the possession of six kilograms of the wire found in their possession.
Police officers received a tip-off about suspects seen digging at some spot went to check. On the way, they came across the three with one carrying a bag. They stopped and searched them and the bag which contained the copper wire. They were arrested when they failed to account for it.
