Police minister Cele announces Lieutenant-General Mawela as the new Provincial Commissioner
JOHANNESBURG – Police Minister Bheki Cele announces Lieutenant-General Mawela as the new Gauteng Provincial Commissioner.
Police minister, Bheki Cele announced on 6 February the appointment of Lieutenant-General Elias Mawela as the new Gauteng Provincial Commissioner.
The appointment of Mawela comes after the previous commissioner, General Deliwe Delange went on pension last year. The minister expressed confidence in Mawela and believed he would use his experience to fight crime.
