Police investigate cause of death after bodies of a couple are found days later

ALEXANDRA – Police call upon community members to work with the police and report suspicious activities in the area.

The police have opened two inquest dockets after a couple’s bodies were found after two days in their house on 4th Avenue on 31 January.

According to Alexandra Police Station spokesperson Stephen Malatjie, the couple were found in their house after neighbours saw that the house had been locked for two days. He said the police found the woman’s body on the bed with no injuries while her boyfriend’s body was found hanging from the roof from a rope in the same room.

Malatjie said the police are still investigating while waiting for the post-mortem results to find the cause of the couple’s death and called on community members to work with the police.

“We cannot speculate the cause of the death of couples until we get the result of the post-mortem from the laboratory. We call upon community members to work with the police and report suspicious activities in the area,” Malatjie concluded.
