Local church invites young people to attend an educational youth summit

ALEXANDRA – The youth summit sessions will be held daily at the KwaBhekilanga sports grounds from 6pm to 8pm.

The youth at the Seventh Adventist Church in Alexandra invites young people to the church’s first-ever Youth Summit to be held at KwaBhekilanga Sports Grounds from 10 to 16 March.

According to Xolisile Mkhize, youth coordinator at the church, the summit is aimed at liberating young people and helping them find the purpose of their lives while bringing them closer to God.

She said the church decided to host this youth summit because of the alarming growing number of teenagers falling pregnant in schools, violent incidents attributed to substance abuse and the high rate of children dropping out of schools. “We’ve invited different speakers from different sectors to come and speak to the youth of Alex that is in urgent need of help.

“Our young brothers and sisters are falling into the trap of drugs every day. Our guest speakers will unpack and engage young people on topical issues such as the purpose of one’s existence, how to deal with temptations and peer pressure and mental wellness.”

The summit sessions will run daily from 6 pm to 8 pm.
