Police look for suspect involved in hijacking in River Park
ALEXANDRA – Police looking for a suspect involved in a hijacking at River Park.
The Metro police are looking for a suspect involved in the hijacking of a white Toyota Corolla which was reportedly hijacked in River Park on 19 May.
The police were conducting a crime prevention roadside check on the corner of Vincent Tshabalala and Lenin roads when they spotted the hijacked vehicle.

The officer stopped the driver of the vehicle.
“The officer alerted other members who were with him. When the driver saw that the officer was calling for backup, the passenger pointed a firearm at him and the vehicle sped off,” said Metro poklice chief David Tembe.
“The officer shot several rounds towards the vehicle and a chase ensued. The vehicle was found abandoned a block away and the suspects ran on foot towards River Park just after the intersection of Vincent Tshabalala and Sheridan direction heading towards N3.”
