Olivenhoutbosch duo nabbed for robbing youngsters of phone
ALEXANDRA – Youngsters robbed of cell phone, two accused await trial.
Two men from Olievenhoutbosch were remanded in custody by the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court for stealing a cell phone from three youngsters.
Justice Mashamba and Johannes Mabilo were arrested for snatching the phone from the minor victims in Midrand at midday on 19 March. While walking, the victims saw that the accused were following them. As they sat down to listen to music from the phone, the two men passed the victims.
One of the men picked up the phone without permission and continued walking. When the victims complained, the accused threatened them with a knife. Luckily, Metro police officers on patrol arrived at the scene and were informed about the incident.
They found the accused with the victims. The two were arrested and the cell phone and a knife were recovered from them. They will reappear in court on 1 July for trial on charges of robbery
