Police arrest a man for allegedly raping a 23-year-old woman inside her house
ALEXANDRA – A young lady aged 23 was home alone when she woke up to a knife-wielding suspect who ordered her to undress and forced her to have sex with him.
A suspect was charged with rape and remanded in custody after he briefly appeared in Alexandra Magistrates’ Court on 17 June 2019.
According to the Alexandra Police Station spokesperson Captain Stephen Malatjie, “A young lady aged 23 was home alone when she woke up to a knife-wielding suspect who ordered her to undress and forced her to have sex with him.
“After raping the complainant the suspect ran away, however, he was caught by the hard-working detectives after the victim identified the suspect on the street on the same day [14 June].”
The police have urged community members to ensure that their houses are always locked when they are alone at home.
