Alex community urged to braai
ALEXANDRA - A National Braai Day is on the cards for the people of Alexandra.
Residents of Alexandra are invited to participate in the township’s inaugural National Braai Day on 24 September at the East Bank Park at 11am.
Organised by community radio station Alex FM, prizes will be given away on air during the build-up to the event while hampers will be given away on the day.
“We encourage all community members to come and celebrate with us as we introduce the everlasting South African tradition to gather around fires to celebrate in the best way possible.
“We are attempting to lift the spirits of the people of Alexandra during these trying times where murders and robberies are the order of the day. We hope this will dissuade community members from committing crimes and join everyone in the fight against the scourge,” said the station’s public relations and events manager Precious Mokwebo.
