Police arrest illegal immigrants
ALEXANDRA - Police arrested 29 illegal immigrants and said that they would be doing more "house calls".
More than 25 illegal immigrants were arrested on the morning of 18 September when police raided houses in Alexandra.
Police requested documentation from all immigrants and those without proper documents spent the day in jail. Those arrested could apply for bail.
Constable Ida Murovhi of the Alexandra police said the police would be making more of these random ‘house calls’. She said, “People who are not in the country legally are on thin ice as the police will be doing this on a regular basis.”
