ALEXANDRA – Police said a young man was killed after he quarrelled with his cousin on 13th Avenue.

The police have opened a docket for murder after a man allegedly killed his relative on 6 September in Alexandra.

It is alleged that a cousin who came to visit his relatives had a quarrel with the suspect who stabbed him in the chest and he died on the scene.

According to the police spokesperson Captain Stephen Malatjie, an eyewitness told the police that the deceased had asked the suspect why he did not greet them when he arrived home and found them sitting in front of the house.

“It is alleged that the suspect, who is the brother of the eyewitness, found the deceased who had just arrived from Germiston sitting with the witness. It is said that the suspect passed the two without greeting them and the visitor [ the deceased] asked the suspect why he didn’t greet them.

“The suspect became aggressive towards everyone and stabbed the [deceased] in the chest and died on the scene,” Malatji said, adding, the police were hot on the heels of the suspect who was still at large.
