Cleaners at Madala Hostel get paid
ALEXANDRA - CLEANERS at Madala Hostel finally get payment from their contractor.
Cleaners at Madala Hostel in 4th Avenue and Alfred Nzo received payment from the contractor who owed them over R1 000 each in wages (‘Cleaners furious about non-payment from contractor’, week ending 20 September).
The contractor Stanford Tladi paid the cleaners the following week. One of the cleaners, Meisie Mofokeng, confirmed that Tladi personally came to pay them all. “We are very happy that Alex News told our story because finally we got our money,” said Mofokeng.
Tladi confirmed that he paid the cleaners a few days after he was contacted by Alex News.
