WYNBERG – A docket for murder has been opened after a man was shot and killed in Alexandra
Police are investigating the murder of a man in Alexandra.
Alexandra Police Station spokesperson Captain Stephen Malatjie said the victim was found on the corner Watt and Second streets in Alexandra after he was shot on 14 October. “The deceased, Bongani Mbongwa of 4th Avenue, was found lying on the ground with three gunshot wounds on his body.”
He added that, according to bystanders, three men were walking on the pavement, heading east to Alexandra township. “One of them produced a firearm and shot the deceased three times. After committing the crime, the three men left the scene on foot.”
Malatjie said a docket for murder has been opened at Alexandra Police Station and police were working around the clock to apprehend the perpetrators.
