Stokvel member makes usual fatal money mistake
ALEXANDRA – Stokvel member loses members' dividends.
Alex police are investigating the robbery of R50 800 in cash from a female stokvel member who was getting her hair done at a salon.
According to police spokesperson Captain Stephen Malatji, the victim and another customer were being attended to on 26 October when a motor vehicle stopped next to the salon. Two armed men exited the vehicle brandishing guns and allegedly took the victims’ handbags. The stokvel member had the cash in her handbag.
She had apparently withdrawn the money from a bank which was dividends to be shared among fellow members.
