E-tolling could start in November

GOVERNMENT intends to publicise the proposed e-toll tariffs for Gauteng next week, with a view to implementing them by the end of November.

SABC news reported that Transport Minister Dipuo Peters said thereafter, there would be a period of 30 days for public comment.

Peters said after the end of this period, the SA National Roads Agency Limited would be able to implement e-tolling within two weeks.

The Supreme Court of Appeal has reserved judgment on the legal challenge of the user-pay system by the Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance.
