Sandringham police urge community members to report crime and work with the police

SANDRINGHAM – Police have called upon all community members to be part of the solution in the fight against crime.

Sandringham Police Station will continue conducting operations in River Park to eliminate ‘bad apples’ within the community.

River Park residents recently marched to the local station demanding and calling on police authorities to do something about the high crime rate in the area. Station spokesperson, Captain Mohlaume Mamabolo said, “We are calling on community members to cooperate and work with the police in the fight against crime in the area. Community members came to the station demanding our intervention with regard to crime in the area. We responded to their demands by conducting a series of operations in the area and dozens of people were arrested.”

Mamabolo urged the public to call 011 719 4822/23, Sector 1 at 071 675 6126 or Sector 2 on 071 675 6128 when witnessing criminal activities.

The leader of River Park Residents Association Tsietsi Kungoane said residents and community members were happy about the way in which police responded to their demands.
