Patients in Region E can collect their chronic medication at Right ePharmacy dispensing facilities during the lockdown

WYNBERG – Managing director at Right ePharmacy Fanie Hendriksz said they have seen a steep increase in patient numbers at their ATM pharmacies over the last couple of weeks.

The Right ePharmacy said its collection medication dispensing unit facilities will remain open during 21 days lockdown to help those living with chronic diseases easily access their medication.

These ATM-like pharmacies are chronic medicine collection points which robotically dispense medication quickly and accurately to patients with chronic illnesses like HIV and TB in less than three minutes.

Managing director at Right ePharmacy Fanie Hendriksz said they have seen a steep increase in patient numbers at their ATM pharmacies over the last couple of weeks. “We have geared up for the increase.

“We’ve stepped up our hygiene practices with sanitisers available and ask patients to observe the one-metre social distance between each other so we all work together to flatten the curve. Telemedicine is really coming into its own at the moment. Pharmacists servicing patients remotely at the ATM pharmacies are based in Centurion and appear on screen to service and assist patients whether they are in Soweto, Diepsloot or Alexandra.”

Hendriksz appealed to community members and family members with people on medication for chronic diseases to encourage them use their facilities. “We strongly urge patients to use the ATM pharmacies so that they don’t have to spend a long time in the queue at hospital or clinic pharmacies.”

Patients residing in and around Alexandra can collect their medication at the Alex Plaza Right ePharmacy facility.
