Nkiyase Mondlana, an epitome of perseverance and a role model to young and upcoming music artists

ALEXANDRA– "I've been in the music industry for more than two decades and the journey I have walked has taught me many things," says Nkiyase.


Well-known South African music artist, radio presenter and community activist, Nkiyase Mondlana has released her new bang single track Matlakala.

Following her successful collaboration with South African music legend, Joe Nina last year which saw the duo receiving multiple nominations for various local music awards, the music queen from Alexandra said her latest craft was aimed at keeping local music alive and giving hope to youngsters.

Her single tracks with Nina last year, My Sweat Somebody and Imali (money), received a positive reception from music lovers.

“My latest single is a combination of amapiano music genre and traditional kwaito. It is aimed at keeping South African music sound alive. I’ve collaborated with Tshwane-based duo, the Future Majesties to cook this banger tune single with a touch of amapiano and dance feel,” she said.

“I’ve been in the music industry for more than two decades and the journey I have walked has taught me many things. I’ve travelled the world doing music on different stages and youngsters should know that perseverance, respect, passion and love for whatever you do is a package that brings positive results. They must learn these life principles in order to reach their dreams. I will continue giving best music to music lovers to entertain and keep dance floors wet.”

Mondlana’s latest single will be available on all digital music platforms.
