Alex mural for Madiba
ALEXANDRA - A mural to honour the memory of the late first president of a democratic South Africa, Nelson Mandela, has been erected on the wall of a house he lived in in Alexandra when he first arrived in Johannesburg.
AlexFM has created a wall portrait of uTata Nelson Mandela at 39 – 7th Avenue, where he used to live in Alexandra in 1941, when Madiba first came to Joburg.
He lived in the compound of the Xhoma family and this is where the mural has been painted.
It was unveiled on 17 December. Alex resident Mduduzi Mosona stands next to the mural.
