Man beaten for bad-mouthing friend
ALEXANDRA - A 46-year-old Alexandra man was beaten up by a friend who accused him of bad mouthing him.
Daniel Kgomotso Motswane said he met the suspect on the corner of 17th Avenue and Alfred Nzo Street. The friend accused him of belittling him, an accusation Motswane denies.
Motswane then claimed the suspect started beating him up. “He also hit me in the face with an unknown object, leading me to bleed profusely,” he claimed.
Alexandra police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said a man had been arrested for the incident and was expected to appear at the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court charged with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
