Man arrested for assaulting partner
ALEXANDRA - An irate boyfriend banged his girlfriend's head against a wall in a fit of anger.
This was after the girlfriend asked her partner to stop sending her sister vulgar SMSes. Alexandra police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the complainant was at home with her boyfriend in 4th Avenue when the boyfriend started sending the SMSes to her sister.
It was not clear why he was sending her sister the messages, but the complainant is said to have asked her boyfriend to back off. In a fit of rage, the boyfriend grabbed the complainant by the neck and banged her head against the wall several times.
The woman was treated at the Alex Clinic and discharged. Her boyfriend has since been arrested for common assault and will appear before the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court soon.
