Man assaults ‘disobedient’ girlfriend
ALEXANDRA - An Alex man has been arrested after he allegedly beat up his girlfriend for ordering him around.
The complainant claimed her boyfriend assaulted her when she asked him to sit down so they could discuss an issue. According to police, she asked him to take a seat so they could talk but he was so offended that he punched her several times with his fists and accused her of being ‘disobedient’.
The complainant also claimed that the man grabbed hold of a cup-full of coffee and poured it on her face and also bit her hand; he also allegedly smashed her laptop and cellphone against the wall.
The complainant managed to run away and went to the Alex Clinic where she was treated and discharged. Her boyfriend is expected to appear in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court to face a charge of common assault.
