The hugging pick pocketer
ALEXANDRA - An 8th Avenue man learnt it the hard way that not all hugs are friendly gestures.
The 39-year-old man said he was at the Mbuso Tavern when he saw his long-lost friend known only as Justice. The two hugged each other but in the process the victim claimed that Justice pick pocketed him of R600.
When he demanded that Justice give him back his money all he got was a ‘good hiding’ from his old friend.
Alex police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said a case of pick pocketing had been opened.
