Man grabs woman by the neck and rapes her
ALEXANDRA - A woman who had just come out of a tavern in the weary hours of the morning was waylaid on her way home and raped.
A woman was raped in the early hours of the morning on her way home from a tavern.
The victim, a 19-year-old from Marlboro said she left Justice Tavern at the corner of 4th Avenue and Hofmeyer Street at about 3am. On 4th Avenue she was grabbed by the neck from behind.
A man told her not to scream and to continue walking. He took her to a quiet spot and ordered her to undress and lie down. After raping her the man vanished into thin air.
Alex police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the police had not made any arrest and were still investigating.
