Hijacked car found abandoned in Alex
ALEXANDRA - A hijacked car was found abandoned at Boikhutsong Flats at the corner of 5th Avenue and Vincent Tshabalala Road in Alexandra.
A car that had been hijacked was found abandoned at Boikhutsong Flats at the corner of 5th Avenue and Vincent Tshabalala Road in Alexandra.
The BMW one series car had been hijacked in Kew at the corner of 9th Road and 2nd Avenue. The driver of the car, a Boksburg woman working in Wynberg said she was driving along 9th Road when she stopped at the traffic lights and was approached by an armed man who forced her out of the car.
He and two other colleagues jumped into the car and they drove off. No shots were fired and no one was harmed in the hijacking.
The 33-year-old woman said valuable items including a cellphone, an iPhone and her handbag with an estimated value of R11 000 was inside the car.
Bramley police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the car was tracked through its tracking system and was found abandoned in Alexandra. No arrests have been made and police are still investigating a case of car hijacking.
