A series of free monthly legal education sessions on property rights and related issues will be held by legal firm ENSafrica from February to November.
The next session of workshops will be on 19 March at Sankopano Centre at the corner of Rev Sam Buti and 12th Avenue from 10am to 12.30pm. The workshop will be on property law presented by Charmanine Du Preez of the firm.
There will be 10 sessions as part of this property series. Persons attending seven of the first nine lecturers will be awarded certificates of attendance. The aim of the programme is to inform and educate the community regarding all aspects of property, occupation, use and ownership.
Topics to be discussed will include immovable property ownership, proof and protection of occupation, possession and ownership, financial issues of occupation, joint property ownership, property sharing, matrimonial disputes and property use, death and succession, commercialisation of rights of occupation and important legislation, occupation, ownership and debt, and insights gained from the programme.
