Man found dead with slit throat
ALEXANDRA - A man with his throat slit presumably with a bottle was found dead on 3rd Avenue.

Alex police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the man, whose age is unknown and whose name has been withheld by this newspaper, was found lying in the street at about 1am – next to him was a broken bottle and brick.
Maphakela said the body also had injuries to the head; synonymous with being hit with a hard object, suspected to have been the brick found next to the body. “At this stage, the suspects are unknown and police are still trying to piece together clues.”
“This was a gruesome murder and we are working overtime to try and catch the suspect(s),” Maphakela said, adding that the body was identified by the man’s brother, who arrived at the scene soon after the police. No motive is known for the murder at this stage.
