ALEXANDRA - A man who was caught red-handed with another woman 'beat the daylight out' of his girlfriend for confronting him with the accusation.

The 27-year-old woman of 2nd Avenue said she was on her way home when she spotted her boyfriend sitting in a tavern with another woman. The victim went straight to her boyfriend and confronted him about this woman.
Without saying a word, the boyfriend is said to have pulled her out of the tavern and slapped her several times on the face with an open hand. The victim then managed to escape and went straight to the police and opened a case.
Alex police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the police arrested the man and he will appear in the Alexandra Magistrates Court on a charge of common assault.
