ALEXANDRA - Man assaults girlfriend after burning her with a hot iron.
A man has been arrested for allegedly burning his girlfriend with a hot iron.
The man also beat up and kicked his girlfriend. Alexandra police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the man will soon appear in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on a charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Maphakela said the man arrived home drunk and found his girlfriend ironing. Without saying a word he grabbed the red hot iron and burnt the face of his 46-year-old girlfriend. The woman then called the police and on arrival he apologised to his girlfriend lover and the police.
The cops then left thinking everything was fine. Before long, he started beating her up and kicking her. The police were called in and this time arrested and locked up the man.
