JOBURG - The City of Johannesburg will launch its Masondo Cup at African Football Executive Conference and Exhibition Afex taking place in Johannesburg from 10 to 11 April.

The Masondo Cup has its origins in the Ubuntu Cup which is a previous initiative of the City of Johannesburg Region F Sport and Recreation department. It started in 2005 in partnership with the Inner City Football Association with the purpose of discouraging xenophobia.
The cup, in honour of former executive mayor of the city, Amos Masondo aims to promote cultural interaction, fight cultural intolerance, encourage recreation in the community and offers non-professional players the opportunity to expose their talent.
