Man allegedly steals money from room-mate
ALEXANDRA - A man is being sought by the police in connection with the theft of money from his room mate.
A man is being sought by police for stealing money from his room-mate.
According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela the victim said he had earlier shown the suspect where he kept his money in case he needed to move the items and furniture in the room.
He then left an allegedly drunk room-mate sleeping in the house and went to his overnight church service. Upon his return the following morning, the victim said he checked if everything was still alright and the money intact.
The victim discovered that R1 500 was missing from the R3 000 he had shown his room-mate.
The victim said his room-mate was the chief suspect as there was no break-in into the house. “The room was locked and I had to use the keys to open it,” the victim said.
