EFF members arrested for malicious damage to property
ALEXANDRA - Two members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) have been arrested by Alexandra police for allegedly throwing stones and damaging a woman's doors and windows.
Two members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) have been arrested by Alexandra police for allegedly throwing stones and damaging a woman’s doors and windows.
According to Alex police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela the two EFF members were part of a group that stoned the woman’s house in 16th Avenue. The two that were arrested were those positively identified by the witnesses as present during the stoning of the house, Maphakela said.
He said a cousin of the victim had identified the alleged culprits, who were allegedly wearing the party’s trademark red berets. Maphakela said the members of the party have since appeared in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on a charge of malicious damage to property.
