Basketball coaching clinic comes to Alex
ALEXANDRA - A good number of Alex children are expected to turnout for the Tiger Brands "Are You Game" basketball coaching clinic to be held at the Three Square Grounds on 31 May.
A good number of Alex children are expected to turn out for the Tiger Brands Are You Game basketball coaching clinic to be held at Three Square Grounds on 31 May.
The clinics, which comprise life skills training and a basketball programme that will include an exhibition match between Tshwane Suns and Egoli Magic teams, will be hosted by the African Youth Development Fund (AYDF) and funded by Tiger Brands.
Both Tshwane Suns and Egoli Magic participate in the Basketball National League and will assist in the basketball clinics. They will later display their skills by participating in the exhibition game.
Are You Game clinics have been running in Alex and Mamelodi in Tshwane since 2010.
Since its inception, the programme has seen over 3 000 primary school basketball players participating in the league and life skills modules. The programme has since graduated over 17 000 primary school children in life skills modules in 26 primary schools in Alex and Mamelodi.
